Kindergarten Graduation

Would you believe that our little Mckinley is no longer a Kindergarten Baby? Her last day of kindergarten was yesterday! She participated in the kindergarten program and it was so cute to see some of the things she has been working on this year. She has really enjoyed school and several times throughout the year I've been so impressed with the many things she already knows. She is already a good reader and the area where she seems to really shine is in her art. Mckinley is going to miss all of her little friends over the summer and her wonderful, sweet teacher, Mrs. Wood.
Great Job little princess! We love you!

Annular Eclipse

There was an Annular Eclipse on May 20th that was a neat event to see. Because NASA named Kannaraville, Utah as the best place in the world to see the full eclipse, this turned into quite an event that brought a lot of Astronomy enthusiasts and travelers to the area.
If you didn't get the chance to see it, this is what it looked like. The way I understood it, the moon moves in front of the sun which creates a shadow on the earth. The best viewing points are the areas on the earth in the shadow. I was expecting the sky to go totally dark like it does at night time, and the pictures make it look like that's what happened but actually these pictures are taken with solar glasses in front of the lens. It wasn't actually totally dark outside, although the entire sky had a darkened look to it, like when the sun is setting, but it was higher in the air. It was really something to see. The ring of fire lasted only about 5 minutes, and the partial eclipse lasted about 2 hours.

Happy Birthday Rome!

Happy Birthday Baby Rome! He may be as big as a two year old, but I still can't believe that he is already one! He is such a happy, sweet baby, I'm feeling like these little baby days are going much too quickly. Here are some fun facts about Rome at one year old.

Rome does a stink bug crawl and you can always hear him coming because he slaps the ground with his hands. He's a speed racer too! He can keep up with his sisters.

Obviously, Rome loves food. If he has any idea that he is being left out of enjoying a smackerel of food, he fusses. You can't eat ANYTHING in front of him without sharing or he throws a kicking, screaming fit.

The only thing I've ever seen Rome spit out is blueberries.

Rome is still a bottle boy, and believe it or not, he drinks close to a half gallon of whole milk every day.

He's a bit naughty and knows how to pinch and hit.

He loves unrolling entire rolls of toilet paper.

He is happiest when he is out on a walk in his wagon, although spending time outside doing just about anything keeps him happy.

He is an Angel and sleeps through the night most nights.

He finally got his first 2 teeth the week of his birthday.

We think he is part baby Rhino because he crawls around and butts his head into things all day long. On purpose. This is how he tells us he wants to be picked up.

He is a little bit shy with most people and clings to his Mommy until he has flirted enough to feel confident that things are safe.

   We love this little boy!

A Pre summer break!

We are always happy when friends or family visit us, even if it might be just a quick hello on the way to another destination. Last week, we were very lucky to be able to spend some time with Melissa and Allen as they invited us to vacation with them in St. George. We weren't able to spend as much time as we would have liked because our kids were not feeling well but it was nice to take a couple of days for a little break to enjoy friendships and fun in the sun. Thanks Melissa and Allen! We love you guys!

Stephanie and Brandons Wedding

On Cinco de Mayo, we celebrated a family wedding! Stephanie H is now Stephanie D! We have considered Brandon to be a part of the family for a long time. (Almost as long as I have been a part) It was nice to make it official! Yay!
I loved the bright colors and Cinco de Mayo sort of theme for the wedding. The luncheon was such yummy mexican food. Truly, the entire day was a celebration and it seemed a perfect fit for Stephanie and Brandon. Their unique personalities came through in every way. What a great day!
