Dolly!

Our baby Dolce is now 6 months old and growing like a weed. She is so much fun and we are loving every day with her. She is her Mommy's girl (mostly because her mommy is talking food and she's still nursing.) She has been crawling and getting all around the house for over a month and her favorite toy to play with is probably paper. She loves to eat paper and we have to be always on the look out for little pieces of paper. She's also pulling herself up to things and trying to stand up. She learned how to crawl before she could actually sit up and it has been quite the feat to get her to sit because she has wanted to be on the move.
She is very scheduled and insists on being in her bed asleep by 10 pm. She still doesn't sleep through the night but she does pretty well most nights. She is wide awake most mornings at 5 am which about kills her parents. She loves treats and is insulted when we don't share chocolate or ice cream with her.
In the mornings, she is so excited when her sister wakes up and comes to say hi to her. Mckinley knows how to get her really giggling and it's so fun to see them play together.
She also loves going on walks and taking her bath before bedtime. She wont take a bottle very well and has to be brought to my work to be fed a lot of the time. We Love her so much!

Not that kind of break!

Let's face it. We would love a break! But on Monday this week we got the wrong kind of break! Mckinley went over to play with one of our neighbors while I was out weeding and after a few minutes of weeding, Scooby broke out of our fence and ran over to the neighbors house where Mckinley was. Mckinley was crying and had been jumping on the trampoline. She said that she was trying to do a "trick" when she hurt her arm. I knew as soon as I got her home that it was broken because all she wanted to do was lie down and go to sleep. (This same thing happened when she broke her OTHER arm 2 years ago.) So we took her to Instacare and her x rays showed that she had a buckle fracture of her radius. Basically a broken wrist. We brought her home with a temporary splint on and she got a hard cast on Wednesday. Just in time for her last day of school and just in time to infringe on the summer swimming lessons we had planned.
She is doing great now. She doesn't seem to be in any pain. The hardest part for her right now is understanding the fact that she has to keep the cast on for 4 weeks. (She could wiggle out of her cast from the first break and she always got to have it off for her bath. She still remembers that!) It's not changing her plans though. She ran through the sprinklers yesterday with a bag over her cast.

We love you Mckinley! Sorry about your "special" arm!

Good Job Darling!

David finished another semester at school and I forgot to post something about it. It has been a pretty hard year but we are excited about the progress. I don't know very many people who could be as efficient as David was this semester on so little sleep. It felt like a never ending semester but he made it through and did well in all of his classes. It really is amazing what you can do when you have to. I love you, David! Ready for the next round?
