Crazy Day

Yes. Today has been a crazy day. To start with, I think I have a plague of some kind. We have a nicer term for it here in civilized America. We call it a cold, but a plague, nonetheless, it is. Mckinley also has it and she wins the green bugers award hands down. David, has come out of this scot free which raises some suspicion that he might be the carrier monkey. No surprize there....J/k Love. Anyway, so we woke up to sniffles and coughing. And we still had to wright talks for sacrement meeting today. Hahaha, if you thought we were different we are definately NOT! Some people feel guilty about writing the talk the night before. Not us though! We are still doing revisions at the pulpit. Bad bad bad. So we went to church, gave our talks, winged our primary lesson. (hahaha, I can't even think of a good excuse for how THAT happened.)
My husband has this friendly way with people that forces him to mingle with people after church, when I am the total opposite. (Don't make eye contact, One word answers, Have to get home now.) He didn't pick up on my n0t so subtle hint to run away from the Home Teachers. So they came over right after church. (Gosh, I swear they do that every month! :) J/k we have really awesome Home Teachers.)
After Home Teacher time, We made dinner and ate and then I had to go to a practice. From there, I went straight to work. And now here I am.
If Sunday is really a day of rest I'm going to have to get more sleep when I'm dead.

My NEW favorite thing

I have a new favorite thing. And it's really good....No not quite THAT good, but close, folks. Mckinley has this book that we read sometimes called My Star. It's a kids book and it has all of these illustrations of treats that are on this time travelers favorite star. On one of the pages it has a picture of these chocolate covered frozen bananas. I know, who salivates over illustrations? Me, ok! So I made some yesterday and they are really fantastic. I don't even really like bananas but I just kept going and going. I'm at work right now or I would still be eating them. I'm just trying to spread the love. You can thank me later.

Gentlemen, It's a dream come true

So we were out in the middle of nowhere and found this huge bra! I know it's pretty unbelievable, but somewhere out there, is every mans dream girl....AKA, the only woman who can fill these shoes. I mean cups. How can we compete with THAT ladies? Keep your eyes peeled boys. HaHaHa. Just kidding. This is actually the Sand Hollow Aquatic Center. It has swimming pools and a water slide inside of it. We were in St. George last weekend watching some of the Holmgrens do the triathalon there. It was pretty exciting. They competed really well, and it was Alecia and Kay's first triathalon. Josh did very well and finished 5th overall. Pretty awesome.

We didn't take very many still pictures but here is one of Josh on his bike. My cute husband is in the background in the green shirt.

It was a really fun filled day. Mckinley is finally getting to the age that we really have fun taking her to things like this because she takes more interest in what is happening. She had a blast playing with her cousins. They found this sand pile, and they were all putting dirt in each others hair. Good times. It was such a fun day. It was really nice to be with Davids side of the family again. We have really missed them so much since we moved, and it was fun to catch up. After the triathalon we went to Bubble tea and then to a park to let the kids play and wear themselves out. We finished off the night at Iggies sports grill where we ate dinner and watched the basketball game. Phoenix v. San Antonio? I don't remember but it was pretty exciting. Two overtimes! What a fun day. David wants to do a triathalon now!

More Creations

I made this hand bag for Shannon, my sister in law for her birthday. I also re-made the flip flops with the scraps of fabric. They turned out really cute and very PINK, which really matches Shan. It's her color.

I also made this beach roll for my sister Sunni for her birthday, and another handbag. She says that she can't wait to lay ever so stylishly around the pool as she uses it.

I think that the beach roll is pretty SWEET. I want to make one for myself now. I made a strap for it so that it can be rolled up and carried easily to any perfect beach. Next stop...Pink sand and no tan lines.

Blogging just to blog?

I decided to actually write something rather than just putting pictures up. Hahaha! So I guess I could be a copycat and write about jobs I have had. That would be fun fun fun.
Currently, I am a paramedic with Iron county Ambulance, as well as a Fire Fighter for Cedar City Fire Department. Pretty fun. I actually love my job because I feel like it's a job where I get to help people who in some cases are desperate for help. I have a lot of training that I think is very valuable and that I use in my everyday life as well as for patients.
My next most recent job was working for Brighton Ski Resort. I loved this job because it really was like going to a party everyday for work. I got to know some really cool people, and was introduced to a totally different lifestyle than I had before known. It also had the best benefit of any job, anywhere: ride breaks. I had to quit because I was in danger of becoming a "life-ee" which is the term used to describe a person who works at a ski resort their entire life. It wouldn't be that bad would it? Yeah, Life in the real world sucks.
Before working at Brighton, I worked at TJ Maxx in Brickyard. This job was HELL. I hated my supervisors, which were gay men who thought they were threatened. Seriously. They ran that place like the Taliban. "yes, Osama. I would be happy to fold all 50,000 towels in the store in 45 minutes." I actually quit because they seemed to think that I was involved with a crime syndicate, that was stealing bed sheets. I am really not kidding. It was too weird, I couldn't take it anymore.
I think that's enough information from my painful past for one day:)

Since today was "Home Church" day, we went up the canyon to Woods Ranch for a picnic. In the valley, spring is in full bloom but up the mountain, it is still winter. It was fun to go back in time for the day. This is a picture of winter hanging on.

Mckinley is the Queen of the slide at nursery, so we of course had to find a slide today.

This sign is funny because everyone knows that The big hill at Woods Ranch is the "Designated Tubing Hill.
However, the sign didn't say anything about snowskating. Besides, it's only bad if you get caught, right?

Latest creations

I just finished this skirt and top. I really made them! I haven't been extremely successful with making clothing before but these turned out pretty good. I know it's cheesy but it seems more inspiring to put a name to clothing so I'm calling this my "Grapefruit Honedew " outfit. I am going to wear it to the symphony next weekend.

picture time!

We just got some pictures back from taking McKinley to the photographer for some Easter pictures. They all turned out really cute. The photographer gave us a package of the ones she thought were the best pictures. They were really good pictures, but the ones that didn't make the cut are probably the most telling about what the sitting was like. Put mildly, it was hell on Earth. We have never taken her to get her pictures taken until now and this is why.

The moral of the story is: Don't schedule photos during nap time.
