In Panguitch Utah, when pioneers were settling the area, they came upon deep snow drifts that the pioneers were struggling to move through. These pioneers were facing starvation and exhaustion. So 7 of these pioneers knelt in a prayer circle and prayed and the answer they were given was to lay the quilts across the snow and walk across them. To commemorate this, the town Panguitch celebrates with a Quilt walk where the town hangs quilts along Main Street for viewing. They also have a quilt gallery in the town high school where you can go to see quilts. This was a really neat story to read and neat to see the many artful quilts. We walked through the gallery and picked our favorite to take a picture by. There is a beautiful statue and special park for the quilt walk which we visited and read about.
